Since his arrival from Barcelona in 2018, he has started just 80 times in the Premier League, featuring in less than half of Everton’s games in that time. When he does feature, he is someone they can rely on, but those days have been far too infrequent. Fitness issues have plagued his time at Everton. With the 28-year-old’s contract up this summer, the story of the last five years is of promise unfulfilled. ![]() In three months under Lampard’s successor Sean Dyche, he is yet to feature at all. But since the Southampton defeat, the Colombian has played just once, in a 2-0 defeat to West Ham the following week that signalled the end for manager Frank Lampard. Much like he did in last season’s run-in, Mina appeared ready to step up and help Everton in their hour of need. It was a genuine attempt to give back and improve the lives of people at home, one entirely in keeping with his personality off the field. By 19, he had started his own foundation, which focuses on giving young kids from poor backgrounds access to education and football coaching. ![]()
